Founder's Biography

Harry Román Vera – Founder of U-Neek.Men

A Journey of Resilience, Growth & Purpose

I’m Harry Roman Vera, the founder of U-Neek.Men. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in September 1982, my life has been shaped by resilience, perseverance, and purpose.

The Foundations of Strength

In 1991, just before my 10th birthday, my father passed away. From that moment on, my mother took it upon herself to equip my sister and me with the tools to build a strong future. She taught us how to cook, clean, sew, iron, and maintain a household—lessons that extended beyond chores. She instilled in us integrity, discipline, and self-reliance, teaching us that true strength lies in doing what’s right, even when no one is watching.

These principles became the foundation of my character—morality, ethics, and respect—values I now strive to pass on to my children and future generations.

Her guidance shaped me into the man I am today. But in 2000, just a month and a half after I graduated high school, I faced another devastating loss—my mother passed away.

Overcoming Loss & Finding Purpose

Despite the hardships, I pushed forward. My career began in the hospitality industry, working as a bartender from 2000 to 2006 while also engaging in social promotions across bars, grills, and clubs in Puerto Rico.

In 2005, I joined the U.S. Army Reserve, and after returning to Puerto Rico, I continued bartending until November 2006, when I transitioned to active duty—a decision that would shape my life profoundly.

With nearly two decades of military service, I have had the honor of serving in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan, 2007-2008) and supporting Operation Unified Response (Port-au-Prince, Haiti, 2010).

Failure, Resilience & Growth

Resilience has been the core theme of my life. Losing both parents before adulthood forced me to develop strength early on. Thanks to my mother’s teachings and the discipline of military life, I learned to push through adversity, adapt, and grow.

I won’t claim to be the smartest man in the room—I’ve failed many times. But failure has never defined me—resilience does. When I failed a test, I studied harder. When I faced career setbacks, I retrained and adapted.

This mindset led me to:
✔ Earn a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (2015).
✔ Obtain industry certifications.
✔ Achieve success and receive multiple awards throughout my military career.

The Hardest Lesson: Letting Go

One of the most difficult transitions in my life was the end of my 16½-year marriage. I was willing to show up every single day as a husband and father, but I learned a harsh reality—a relationship cannot thrive if only one person is fighting for it. We decided to Close that chapter of life and continue our own separate paths while co-parenting for our children.

Since 2021, I have dedicated myself to self-growth, reading books, attending counseling, and utilizing every available resource to strengthen my mental and emotional well-being.

Through this journey, I realized something profound: everything I had learned about resilience, self-discipline, and emotional intelligence was meant to be shared with others.

Breaking the Cycle & Giving Men a Voice

Too often, men suffer in silence. Society tells us to "man up" and suppress our struggles, creating a cycle where men feel unheard, unseen, and unsupported.

But our experiences, emotions, and challenges are real—and they matter.

That realization led me to create U-Neek.Mena platform dedicated to men’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Unlike traditional self-help platforms, U-Neek.Men is a curated content hub, connecting men with:

Expert-backed mental health strategies.
Fitness, nutrition & self-care resources.
Relationship and personal development insights.
A supportive community where men can grow without judgment.

The Mission: Step Up. Take Charge. Thrive.

U-Neek.Men isn’t about fixing men—it’s about empowering them to take charge of their own well-being. It’s about breaking generational cycles, healing past wounds, and reclaiming authenticity.

If you’re ready to stand up for yourself, invest in your growth, and take control of your life, then U-Neek.Men is for you.
